According to CryptoChipy Limited, Gibraltar pioneered the first DLT regulatory framework, drawing numerous leading crypto companies from the UK and around the world, such as Bits and LMAX Digital, alongside a growing DeFi community. Peter adds that “many crypto enthusiasts argue that the DLT regulatory framework promotes centralization, which contrasts with the original crypto philosophy.” Nevertheless, this is expected to spark interesting debates during the Gibraltar crypto festival this summer.

This year’s festival is set to attract over 1000 crypto enthusiasts and will be held in the “Crypto Village,” just minutes from Gibraltar Airport. As many flights from mainland Europe and the US do not land at Gibraltar’s airport, CryptoChipy offers several alternatives for smooth travel by car, boat, or airplane. Crypto Gibraltar will accommodate up to 700 people in the exhibition area, which will be linked to an NFT gallery and networking lounge.

Focused on Networking

“The primary reason people attend crypto conferences is for networking. Many attendees don’t participate in any seminars,” shares Burgess. Ultimately, Crypto Gibraltar is primarily a networking event designed to facilitate this. Peter explains, “While we offer two and a half days of intense conference sessions, we also have a dedicated networking lounge, ensuring there are ample time slots for productive interactions.”

Every evening promises a lively atmosphere for attendees. Last year, the opening party was held inside a cave within the Gibraltar rock, complete with an extraordinary sound show that mirrored the rock’s formation. In September 2022, the festival will feature a variety of themes that unite global attendees, with a connection to the Metaverse at the same time.

An Engaging Metaverse Journey

“We aim to craft an engaging Metaverse experience by streaming live DJ performances from a Metaverse club into the physical world,” explains Burgess. Crypto Gibraltar Festival is collaborating with DJenerates – a renowned NFT collection that celebrates club music and features top DJs & artists from the TOP 100 DJ list. Will we witness David Guetta, Armin Van Buuren, or Steve Aoki? At the very least, Hipworth will play the closing track live. He is the founder of DJenerates and a well-known NFT artist.

This crypto event will allow attendees to experience both the real world and the Metaverse simultaneously, with musicians appearing on the screen and access to the Metaverse through mobile devices. Attendees will be able to interact with Metaverse participants while also connecting with them in person. “We believe this will be a world-first,” concludes Burgess.
